April 1st...Husbands last day of being 29! No joke...

April 1st....Joshua's last day of being 29 and it was our 6 year anniversary of the very first night we hung out! :) I will have to go back and scan the pic of us that we took on that first night. How funny. We spent the whole entire night talking at Waffle House. We told our life stories (including how my sweet Grandpa Curtis passed on this day years before....miss him!). How we would budget money, raise kids and what holidays to celebrate. Some might think that's weird but we didn't. It was just different from the very beginning. I'm a lucky girl. :) Anywho...it was a great day to celebrate! We started off the day going to Renfro Valley, one of my most favorite places! April is Redbud Month and they were having a health walk. We did the long route (2.5 miles) and were the first to finish. Woohoo! Here are some shots of the scenery on our walk.

Oh and Josh letting everyone know as we finished that "if ya ain't first, you're last!" Hehe..(Talladega Nights quote for those who are wondering.)
We toured the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, listened to some of the renfro valley entertainers play some bluegrass music and had a delicious lunch. We also got some redbud and dogwood seedlings for finishing the walk. Excited to plant them! Then we walked through the valley and visited the shops. I showed him the ones I used to work in. LOVED that job (my first one, in highschool). They were doing a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the beginning of the season in the Valley and having all the shops full. We were talking to the Director of Tourism who had us be in the picture with all the shop owners. Too fun! OH! We also stopped by the Gristmill for the best ice cream ever! Josh took me to a ferry. It was fun! We met a interesting couple who were biking across America. They left Oregon in October and this was supposedly their honeymoon. We weren't sure what to believe, but it was interesting. Here we are on the ferry! It's the Valley View Ferry...the oldest continuous running ferry in the U.S.
What a fun day. No better reason to celebrate!
