Friday mom and I went to Renfro Valley for the Harvest Festival and to hang out with Debbie and Marsha at the campground. The festival was a little disappointing...not much going on with the craft booths. Although we did get some yummy caramel popcorn and ice cream too! But the real way to see a festival on an 80 degree day...from the comfiness of a golf cart. Especially when your feet and ankles are the size of an elephants.
Mom and Marsh, just chilling.
Crossing the bridge. Renfro is such a pretty place. We had a fun day. Josh brought home some dinner and we spent the rest of the evening just hanging out.
Saturday Josh and I went to Lancaster to get his hair cut. Every once in a while we give him a break between cutting it at home and he goes to see Greg...the awesome guy who has cut his hair for years. We always like seeing him. AFterwards, we went to Bluebird. Where we had the thought that based on our work schedules, a family wedding, the location and our nearing due date....this will likely be our last meal at BlueBird before David Monroe is here. That was kinda crazy! So we ordered some our favs....and had a lovely time!
Then we went to a movie..and saw Rush. And thought...because of those same reasons...is this our last movie in a theater before he comes?!?! Oh and on the way into town we saw that my old highschool was having their Marching Band Invitational! I got so excited! So after the movie, we went to that and saw a couple bands perform.
And let me just say this....we all know I am not a huge fan of change. I have been to some state finals and competitions since my time in band was done and I know rules change over the years but i can't help but be a little disappointed at some of the changes. One of the best things about band was that it taught discipline and determination. You literally had to stand there, at attention and stay that way regardless if you had sweat rolling down your face, a bee land on you, etc. You marched onto the field and off the field, at attention, ready for competition from the time you entered the field until you left. Apparently those are the rules no longer. There is a bunch of lolly gagging getting on to and off the field. There is less marching and more theatrics. Ok anyway...off soapbox...a couple bands were surprisingly good and had some of the old qualities. Still enjoyable...but overall...lacking the fundamentals of the old days. It was a good day though. :)
Sunday, after church we went out to dinner and to the grocery. This fortune.....UNACCEPTABLE!!
Also on Friday...we had a Dr's appt. All went good. 36 weeks!
Love weekends. they always go too fast.
