Community
Growing up in a small rural area, I really understand the meaning of community. This was a discussion Josh and I had the other night. Just how different a "community" feels in a city vs. a rural area. There is something to be said about a group of people who support you. Perfect example. We have some friends whose parents lost their home to a fire this past week during a storm. Lightning struck their home and within minutes, it was total devastation and destruction. So many family treasures were lost. Sister and I went all through school with their two girls. Amazing amazing family. Anyway....their mom was a fantastic scrap booker. She made TONS and was very talented at it. They brought all the scrapbooks to the Woodstock Community Center to go through and see if anything could be salvaged. Their family and some of us neighbors and family friends tore apart so many scrapbooks. It was heartbreaking to see a families memories being torn out of hand crafted pages designed with so much love of wonderful family memories. Although some photos were not salvageable, many were. In fact, 4 classrooms at WCC look somewhat like this...
What a perfect use of The Center and example of community. Love your neighbors and friends. Please keep the McWilliams family in your prayers.
