A Formal Introduction

We have almost had the girls with us for a week! We are loving watching them, talking to them, feeding them. They're great fun. We're learning their personalities and more about them each day. They're too funny.

Our two black beauties, the Jersey Giants....are Sophia and Dorothy. We can tell them apart because Sophia's feet are white/lighter and Dorothy's are dark colored. They're so funny because they haven't really "clucked" like you think a chicken would. They do this funny, "whuuuuuu" that i wish I could do right now so you could hear it. It's so funny. Our Rhode Island Reds....Rose, Blanche and Estelle...can easily be distinguished too. Rose....OMG. She's hilarious. The name is very fitting. Rose has a smaller comb than the other two. For those who aren't familiar....the comb is the red part on the top of their head. She is always running around all crazy like and checking things out. She kinda acts like she doesn't know whats going on. We get giggles watching her. Blanche is very confident. Fitting name as well. She strides around all pretty and proud. Her feathers are a deeper red/brown at the tips then Rose & Estelle. And dear lil Estelle...she's beautiful. Her feathers are lighter. We are totally loving them! They come outside and stretch....scratch...peck. The other day Dorothy would kick the coop, peck the coop. Kick, peck. It was hilarious. Anywho....no eggs yet. Excited for the warmer weather. We want some eggs! :)
